The BNS-94H+ Radiation Portal Monitor family was developed by Gamma Technical Corporation to serve as higly effective devices for the reconnaissance of natural and artificial radiation sources. The detectors of the system are intelligent scintillation probes with high sensitivity for gamma radiation. A patented measurement method assures background, shielding and speed compensation in each probe. The alarm unit of the system receives data from the detector units in every half seconds and calculates the actual deviation from the average background level. If the difference exceeds the preset value, the alarm goes off and the event gets registered into a log file.
